Thalapathy Vijay's latest Tamil cinematic offering, which hit the silver screen on the 5th of September, 2024, has been met with widespread acclaim from both audiences and film critics alike, primarily for the exceptional performances delivered by the cast and its compelling narrative. Titled "The Greatest Of All Time," this motion picture has made a substantial impression at the box office in its initial week of release, achieving the commendable feat of crossing the Rs 100 crore benchmark within a mere 72 hours. Continuing its triumphant run, the film went on to surpass the Rs 200 crore milestone in the first 11 days post-release. Despite this overwhelming success, the movie faced an unexpected hurdle on its second Wednesday, as it experienced a significant decline in ticket sales. This unexpected dip in its commercial performance has introduced an element of intrigue regarding whether "The Greatest Of All Time" will be able to conquer the coveted Rs 300 crore threshold.

About GOAT

The Greatest of All Time, commonly referred to as GOAT, is a science fiction action thriller centered around a spy named Gandhi, who works for the Special Anti-Terrorist Squad (SATS). After retiring, he faces a challenging assignment that intertwines with his past. The Tamil film features Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth Thyagarajan, Sneha Prasanna, Prabhu Deva, and Mohan in key roles, with special appearances by MS Dhoni, Trisha, and Sivakarthikeyan. Thalapathy Vijay stars in dual roles, and director Venkat Prabhu discussed the de-aging technology utilized in the film.

In an interview with India Today, Venkat said “At first when I wrote the script, I was not aware of de-ageing technology, and so I started the script with father and son, which was to be played by different actors. Then my classmate Vikram, who is into animation and had worked in Hollywood movies, introduced the concept of making a character as your wish just as they did in 'Gemini Man', and I decided to explore it.”

"Until Jawan, we typically saw father and son characters portrayed by the same actor, but I wanted to approach it differently. Utilizing de-aging technology required a substantial budget, and that's when AGS Entertainment stepped in. I first shared the concept with Vijay while he was working on Varisu, and he suggested I complete my project *Custody* first," the filmmaker concluded.
