Virat Kohli was the Highest Taxpaying Sportsperson of FY24

The greatest athlete who had paid taxes in the financial year ending on March 31, 2024, is Indian cricket star Virat Kohli. The cricket player with the T20 World Cup title was the leader of the pack when it came to sports taxes in India with a payment of Rs 66 crore to the IRS as of 2024.

The 35 years old right-handed batsman from Delhi was on the 5th position in the list of Top Celebrity Taxpayers after Shah Rukh Khan, Tamil actor Vijay, Salman Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan. They had sent 92 crores, 80 crores, 75 crores, and 71 crores respectively.

Among the other athletes on the list include a former cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni who paid the highest amount on the list, Rs 38 crore and Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar who paid Rs 28 crore.

Cricket all-rounder Hardik Pandya and wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant also topped the list. The two athletes joined Kohli as they had the highest tax contributions. Furthermore, one more athlete on this list was Sourav Ganguly, ex-vice-President of The Board of Control for Cricket in India. The latter paid Rs 23 crore in the corresponding year's taxes.
