Amazon Prime Membership Rules are Changing from January 2025

Starting in January 2025, Amazon will update its Prime membership terms in India by limiting the number of devices that can stream content simultaneously under a single account. Prime members will be able to access Prime Video on up to five devices, with a maximum of two TVs, as stated in an email sent by the company to a member of the Tech Team.

Amazon Prime Video users who watch on more than two TVs will need to purchase a separate subscription to continue streaming on the third TV. This change will come into effect from January 2025, according to the Amazon help page.

Currently, Prime members can stream on up to five devices without any restrictions on the type of device. Users can manage their registered devices through the Prime Video settings page.

There are choices of the Prime membership available through Amazon, at various rates as follows: a monthly rate of Rs 299, quarterly for Rs 599, and an annual value of Rs 1499. Other subscription variations are as follows: Annual Prime Lite subscription for Rs 799, and Prime Shopping Edition for Rs 399, which is an annual subscription. Prime Video membership includes benefits such as unlimited ad-free video streaming and access on up to 5 devices including up to 2 TVs.
