BJP's Kangana Continues Lead, ahead by 20,745 Votes

If we look at the current Kangana Ranaut’s Mandi Election Results 2024 situated in Himachal Pradesh has become a noteworthy area  in the General Elections. This is due to the debut of Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut's political career as a candidate in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

As a BJP’s candidate Kangana Ranaut, she is running for the hot seat against Congress’ Vikramaditya Singh. The latter is the heir of the Rampur royal family and also the son of the late Virbhadra Singh. To shed light on Virbhadra, he is a six-time Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.

So if you ask why is Mandi a place of importance for Kangana Ranaut?

Mandi in Himachal Pradesh has always been famous for its rich collection of ancient temples. Furthermore, it is also known for electing individuals from royal families more frequently than any other given region. Also to add, Mandi is the largest constituency in Himachal Pradesh pertaining to geographical area.

Does the 2024 election in Mandi give a reminiscence of the recent past?

The answer here lies on the Mandi Lok Sabha seat, wherein, previously it was a Congress stronghold, but now has shifted towards the BJP in the last two elections. If we look back to 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP's Ram Swaroop Sharma had defeated Congress's Pratibha Singh. The latter is again a former two-time MP who got defeated by Ram Swaroop Sharma by a margin of 39,000 votes. Furthermore, in the 2019 elections, Ram Swaroop Sharma again retained the seat with a significant margin by receiving a staggering 647,189 votes.

After bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut announced her candidacy from Mandi, the late MP Ram Sharma's wife Pratibha decided not to run for office. Having said that, the locals believed that Kangana's victory in Mandi could only be attributed to Modi's influence.
