Champions Trophy 2025 Schedule to be Released Soon, ICC Board Meets on Nov 29

The International Cricket Council board will gather for a virtual meeting on November 29. They will finalize the much-awaited schedule for the Champions trophy, which is organized to be held in Pakistan in February-March next year.

The impasse mostly stems from India's unwillingness to play its matches in Pakistan against the backdrop of continued political tug-of-war. The last time India visited Pakistan was in 2008-before Mumbai's terror attacks.

Proposal for hybrid model under discussion

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has suggested a hybrid model whereby the matches of India shall occur in a third country. However, Pakistan Cricket Board does not agree with the proposal.

ICC seeks resolution before leadership change

As stated by the spokesperson for the ICC, "The ICC board will meet on November 29 to discuss the Champions Trophy schedule." The meeting before the December 1 acquisition of the ICC chairman post by BCCI secretary Jay Shah gains additional significance.

In addition, Shah and the other board members are especially eager to settle this matter before the leadership transition making this online meeting of vital importance for the future of the tournament.
