Donald Trump's Second Assassination attempt: Details about the Florida Golf course Shooting?

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) stated that it is "investigating what appears to be an attempted assassination," according to CNN. Former United States President and Republican nominee for the 2024 US elections, Donald Trump, escaped second murder attempt after shots were fired near the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. This was the former president's second assassination attempt, coming just two months after he was targeted at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. During a press conference on Sunday, West Palm Beach Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said the Secret Service fired bullets around 1:30 p.m. ET. Bradshaw described how a Secret Service agent confronted someone after sighting a rifle barrel. CNN said that the apprehended man was between 300 and 500 yards from Trump. According to the Associated Press, US Secret Service officials opened fire after observing a person with a pistol near the golf course on Sunday. The firearm, an AK-style, was seized near the golf course, according to the article. Spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi, in a tweet on social networking site X (previously known as Twitter), revealed that the Secret Service is investigating "a protective incident involving Trump" which occurred right before 2pm on Sept 15. What did Trump say following the assassination attempt Following the gunfire, the Republican presidential candidate stated, "There were gunshots in my area, but I want you to hear this from me first: I am safe and well! Before rumors spread, know that I am fine. Nothing will slow me down. I WILL NEVER SURRENDER! I shall always be grateful for your support."  

Who is the suspect?

Ryan Routh was apprehended after fleeing the crime scene, leaving behind his AK-47 style weapon and a GoPro camera. The suspect fled the scene in a car, leaving an AK-47-style assault rifle and other equipment behind, but was apprehended later. According to a Bloomberg story based on CNN sources, Ryan Routh's alleged social media account had a number of posts decrying Russia's invasion of Ukraine, including messages calling on international warriors to defend Ukraine. The profile has now been suspended.
