ICC Seeks New CEO to Lead Global Cricket Organization

HIGHLIGHTS:

•  ICC starts recruitment for a new CEO after Geoff Allardice's resignation on January 30, 2025.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has declared that it has commenced going round the recruitment and selection process for a new CEO of the world-over body of cricket. The announcement was made through a social media post.

Geoff Allardice, former chief executive officer of the ICC, resigned from the post on January 30, 2025. Allardice was appointed as CEO in November 2021. His journey began in the ICC in 2012 as General Manager in Cricket after having served as the Cricket Operations Manager at Cricket Australia.

As per notification issued by the ICC, the CEO shall be based in the headquarters of the organization in Dubai, UAE, and the last date to apply is Monday, March 10. The CEO will primarily develop and implement strategic plans for the long term, oversee operational activities around the globe, and weigh governance against commercial growth opportunities. The CEO will also be a major player in the negotiation of sponsorships, broadcasting rights, and other revenue-generating events that will go far in the growth of the sport.

The notification further states that the role asks for a minimum of 10 years in senior leadership, such as CEO, COO, or Director, in a proven capacity to manage large organizations, preferably with an annual turnover of over $250 million.
