Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL) has entered the sports hydration market with its new drink, 'Spinner.' According to reports, the brand was created in collaboration with Sri Lankan cricket legend Muttiah Muralitharan, and it represents Reliance's most recent entry into the FMCG sector.

With Spinner, which is bottled at Muralitharan's Muttiah Beverages plant in Mysore, where RCPL also produces Campa soft drinks, Reliance Consumer Products (RCPL) is increasing its market share in the sports beverage industry. Coca-Cola and PepsiCo, two established competitors in the market, will now face off against RCPL as a result of this move. With Olympian Neeraj Chopra as its ambassador, Coca-Cola's Limca brand entered the sports hydration market in 2021 with Limca Sportz, while PepsiCo's Gatorade costs Rs 50 for a 500ml bottle. With an annual value of $1 billion, India's hydration market is still mostly concentrated in urban areas.

To promote its sports drink, Spinner, Reliance Consumer Products has teamed up with IPL teams like the Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings, SunRisers Hyderabad, and Lucknow Super Giants.

The partnership seeks to expand brand awareness and reach nationwide. The beverage is available in three flavors which include nitro blue, orange, and lemon.

Regarding the development, Muralitharan stated, "Spinner is a game-changer that will empower every Indian to stay hydrated and active, no matter where they are or what they're doing."
