Sandeep Kewlani Made the Decision to Become a Filmmaker

When questioned about how he got started in filmmaking, Sandeep Kewlani discussed his early love of movies and acknowledged growing up mostly on Bollywood and Hollywood productions. While his love for filmmaking was initially inspired by Rajkumar Hirani's "3 Idiots," he also cherished memories of cinematic treasures and cult favorites like "Mughal-e-Azam" and "Sholay," in addition to Hollywood blockbusters like Steven Spielberg's "Jurassic Park" and James Cameron's "Titanic," which not only continue to be relevant and strong in content but also appeal to a wide range of viewers. TV shows like "Mahabharat" fueled his narrative imagination when he was a teenager.

He also remembers excitedly anticipating the monthly installments of "Lehren Network," which offered behind-the-scenes looks at the magic of film. For Sandeep, watching BTS videos, going to movie sets, and immersing himself in great movies provided him with priceless cinematic expertise.

Having seen "Sholay" over 600 times, he proudly called it a must-watch for aspiring filmmakers! Sandeep's Exploration into the Marathi Sector

Beginning his career in the Marathi film business with movies such as "Ajinkya", "Coffee Ani Barach Kahi" and "Classmates", Kewlani highlighted that his success in the future was largely due to his collaboration with other movie enthusiasts. He recalled how, despite Zee Studios' ultimate acquisition of the masterwork, he had supported "Sairat" even before Nagraj's debut picture "Fandry" opened in theaters. His adventures in Marathi not only helped him hone his filming abilities but also created enduring relationships with artists and storytellers, providing a comprehensive grasp of the trade.

Kewlani Seeks Out His First Opportunity in Bollywood - Runway34

Kewlani's inspiration for the script for "Runway 34" came from a fortuitous discovery of a newspaper story that described a terrifying aviation occurrence. They approached Ajay Devgn with the script in collaboration with Aamil Keeyan Khan, and the actor accepted the idea and agreed to take up the directorship.

While the film was being made, Ajay Devgn gave them another chance, asking them to translate the screenplay of the Tamil movie "Kaithi" into Hindi as "Bholaa". He remarked, "Wait for the right time," in response to a question regarding SkyForce. It is premature to discuss it at this time.

What Is Sandeep Kewlani's Future Plan?

Kewlani claimed that he is already working on future screenplays and brainstorming with two of the biggest names in the Hindi cinema industry. Though specifics are still being withheld, anticipation is undoubtedly growing. Following the announcement of Sky Force, his upcoming presentation, he pledged to provide additional updates.
