Star India to Produce Web Series on Reserve Bank of India

The Reserve Bank of India, which was established in 1935, finished 90 years in April this year. Star India will produce a web series on the Reserve Bank of India's story to help the public understand that the central bank plays a major role in the country's fast growing economy.

Further, Star India Private Limited, Viacom 18, Zee Entertainment Network Limited and Discovery Communications India were in the fray for "Production and distribution of Web Series to recall the long journey of RBI" after the central bank floated a Request for Proposal in July.

In the technical evaluation round, Zee Entertainment Network and Discovery Communications India did not qualify. However, Star India Pvt Ltd and Viacom 18 went to the final round.

According to credentials, Star India has been granted the tender for Rs 6.5 crore to produce the web series.

Further, the RBI had desired for the creation of a web series of five episodes of duration nearly 25-30 minutes each, and it had invited proposals from production houses of national TV channels, and OTT platforms; the series can be broadcast on these platforms.

The five episode series will give valuable information about RBI for the public to understand the central bank's vital role in the economic growth, fostering greater engagement, and building trust and confidence in its operations and policies.

As per RBI reports, the main objective of the project is to create a diversified and engaging series to provide a detailed exploration of the RBI functions and operations over its journey.

Furthermore, it added, "By achieving these objectives, the series with a total of 5 episodes with a duration of approximately 25-30 minutes each will serve as a valuable resource for magnify public understanding of the central bank's vital role in the economy, fostering greater engagement, and building trust and confidence in its operations and policies."

While inviting the tender RBI has stated, "Through compelling storytelling, doing interviews with expertise, and high-quality visuals, the web series seeks to enhance transparency and build trust in the central bank's functions and policies."

The web series aims to highlight the central bank's vision and mission, showcase its remarkable achievements and initiatives, provide insights into current developments and collaborations, and to make complex financial concepts accessible to the public.
